‘Tis the season for spring cleaning and with that, comes the piles of clothing, toys and stuff that you no longer find useful. Mom’s everywhere are loading up their boxes of things too small and things outgrown.
Donating these is a wonderful option but lots of moms also decide to earn a few bucks by selling things on-line, garage sales or at Mom to Mom sale. If you’ve never checked one a Mom to Mom Sale you should!
Mom to Mom type sales are a great way to get things you are looking for considerably less than new prices. Most sales offer items from preemie to child’s size 14-16. All items are gently used and sometimes you will find some that are brand spanking new as well.
You won’t just find clothing either. toys, baby equipment of all kinds, strollers, maternity clothes, etc… Gifts that were never used, items that children outgrew before they cold be worn — we’ve all been there as moms! Whether you are expecting your first child, grandchild or your kids have just outgrown last year’s wardrobe, I have never been disappointed.
This is why I love them:
*Great selection – tons of children’s items found all under one roof makes shopping easy and you are more likely to find what you are looking for due to the sheer volume of stuff
* Great prices
* The variety always amazes me and I never fail to find some treasures.
Not a shopper? Why not become a seller?
If you don’t wish to shop, you might consider being a seller instead. Typically, you pay a fee to rent a table and make some money while clearing out your own closets. The draw large crowds and you will no doubt come away with some extra cash. It’s a win – win for everyone!
Here are two upcoming sales for you to consider and I know that there is still time to sell at the KW POMBA Sale for sure so check the link. Let me know of more of these types of sales by sending me an email.
* Spring Mom to Mom Sale in Baden this Saturday March 31st – St. James Lutheran Church
* Spring 2012 KW POMBA Children’s Used Clothing, Toys and Equipment Sale
Saturday April 21st – Moses Springer Arena – Waterloo
I have been to this sale and it is HUGE and the items are high quality. People starting lining up 2 to 3 hours before the doors open – I am not kidding! I also know a friend who has sold things at this sale and the nice thing is, you pre-price everything and don’t actually have to be at the sale — they simply track your sales and you get a percentage of the items you sell.
