Rhythm Dance Competition 2013

All day Sat & Sunday at the University of Waterloo

Humanities Theatre – Hagey Hall.

FREE Admission.

Sit back and enjoy super talented dancers in full costume & makeup of all ages including Jazz, Tap, Classical Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Street Style, Song and Dance. Solos, duets and groups.  Come and go as you please. Watch all the talented dancers from our own local dance studio Bojangles Dance Arts performing all weekend!

    Elmira Maple Syrup Festival 

    Saturday April 6th from 7am to 4pm


    This huge family friendly event is an annual attraction is celebrating it’s 49th year and has grown into the World’s Largest One Day Maple Syrup Festival. The entire family will enjoy the tradition that makes the town of Elmira a vibrant and fun place to visit and there is much more than just syrup and pancakes.

    Devour Pancakes & Browse the Mall – $4 single, $5 double Try our golden-brown pancakes and famous maple syrup. You will find us just off the Mall on Wyatt Street. Get yours before they’re gone! Craft booths, apple fritters, baked goods, maple syrup and much more await you and your appetite along the half-mile-long outdoor Mall. Plus, mouth-watering, home-style meals are featured at the local churches.

     Cheer at the Pancake Flipping Contest – 11 a.m. Watch this wacky relay at the Arena. Plan to be there!

    Savour Old-Fashioned Toffee  See the old-fashioned way of boiling down the sap and sample unforgettable maple syrup toffee!

    Birds of Prey Show

    Come and see this fascinating presentation and meet the birds after the show.

     Visit Old MacDonald’s Farm – 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.     $0.50 adult/child See the animals, find your way through the straw maze and climb on the tractor in the buggy shed by the pancake tent.

    Explore the Sugar Bush – 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. $5.50 adult, $3.50 child 2-12 2 & under free Venture out to a local sugar bush by bus to experience all of the maple syrup preparations. Not wheelchair accessible.

    Saw A Log  $2 Have some fun near the Mall! Join the Venturer Scouts of the 1st Elmira Scout Group to test your sawing skills. Take your branded slice home as a souvenir!

    Swan Parade Weekend

    Downtown Stratford and Lakeside Drive

    Celebrate Spring with Stratford’s annual release of their iconic swans from their winter quarters.  Saturday events include the downtown Swan Quest and horse drawn carriage rides.  Sunday is alive along Lakeside Drive, with entertainment, vendors, buskers, face painting and of course the swan parade at 2 pm SHARP!

    Worldwide Pillow Fight Day 2013

    Uptown Waterloo Square

    Join the worldwide pillow fight!  3rd Annual Kitchener-Waterloo International Pillow Fight Day. Join your friends and neighbours for an hour of silly fun. Bring soft pillows to the Uptown Waterloo Square. There are safety rules to ensure everyone has fun.

    This is a free, family friendly event, open to kids of all ages and kids at heart. Rain or Shine.  Bring your own pillow, a group of friends and a great attitude.
    · No feather pillows please (they are messy) · Wait until the signal at 3pm to begin · Soft feather-free pillows only.  We’re not out to hurt people. · Do not swing at people without pillows or with cameras


    Tri CIty Roller Girls Season Opener – Vicious Dishes vs. TKO’s

    Tri-City Roller Girls Vicious Dishes and Total Knock-Outs are gearing up to hit the track against each other on April 6th.  This will be the first in a series of games that will see one of our home teams take home the Championship Title.

    To kick off our 2013 season by blowing the first whistle for us, we are pleased to welcome the Mayor of Wilmot Township; Les Armstrong.

    This is a family friendly event; children 12 and under are free.

    All ages welcome | Activities designed for ages 4 – 12 + adult  companion 

    Spend the afternoon with friends and family exploring the world of art and  creativity. Drop-in any time and enjoy the exhibitions, make one-of-a-kind  artwork, take part in drama workshops, and listen to stories read by a Kitchener  Public Library storyteller.  New activities each month.
