Celebrate the Bicycle at Kitchener’s Bikefest Today – May 26th, 2013

Bring along your bike, friends, and family to our first ever BIKEFEST event at Kitchener City Hall on Sunday, May 26th from 11am – 4pm. Festival highlights include:

· Free bicycle tune-ups

· Hourly prize draws and giveaways

· Bicycle polo match demonstration

New Dundee Victoria Day Fireworks & All Day Celebrations Monday!

New Dundee’s Victoria Day celebrations are truly a super fun way to spend Victoria Day Monday with your family.  We have been many times and hope to do it again!

Start off with the fireman’s pancake breakfast and the town-wide yard sales. (TIP – bring your wagon to collect your treasures or carry your tired kids as there is a lot of walking!)  Wander over to the park for lots of more action including bouncy castles, face painting, fine arts & craft show, live entertainment, antique cars, games and more. The whole day is capped off by a fantastic fireworks display at dusk.

Suggested donation of $5 per child.

Spend an afternoon with friends and family exploring the world of art and creativity. Enjoy the exhibitions, make one-of-a kind artwork, take part in drama workshops and games, and listen to stories read by Kitchener Public Library staff. New activities each month.

* This year we are suggesting a $5 donation per child to help cover program costs.

The Hespeler Tennis Club is a non profit organization, offering tennis facilities and programs to the community of Hespeler within Cambridge, Ontario.

The club is located in beautiful Forbes park and offers a clubhouse and three fenced, lighted outdoor courts. Members can drop-in to use the courts, or join some of the many organized programs offered.

The clubhouse & courts will be open every Saturday in May for EVERYONE to come by & check them out. Upcoming dates are as follows:

 Do you know someone who is expecting or has a newborn baby?

Please tell them about the Prenatal / New Moms & Dads Program happening at The Parent Child Resource Centre. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Parent Child Resource (PCRC) offering programs and support to parents and families in our community. I can attest to the high quality and caring staff at the PCRC  having personally been a participant  in many of their programs for the past 12 years with my own three children. The staff are professional, caring and friendly and they offer a safe and welcoming place for parents to connect.

What to Expect: 

This is a wonderful opportunity for first-time moms and dads and pregnant women to connect with others in a friendly and welcoming environment. This is a non-denominational program open to everyone.

Things that will be discussed include: 

*What to expect the first year

*How do you fit a new baby in your life

*Connecting you with other community resources

Did you know that Home Depot offers free hands-on building workshops on the second Saturday of each month between 10am and Noon? What a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with your child while creating something special that they get to  take home. You must pre-register but the workshops are totally FREE!
