2-Hour Toronto Tall Ship Sailboat Family Adventure!

Standard

T460x279

Great Lakes Schooner Company

I bought this same online deal last summer and took a chance at what sounded like a really fun family adventure.. it paid off!  I am sharing with you all now since I can vouch for the deal and the experience which was amazing!
The ship Kajama is a large, 165 foot three-masted 1930’s schooner.. really impressive featuring lots of seating. The crew was young, energetic and friendly and the cruise experience was fabulous. It’s quite a gorgeous tall ship with great facilities, washrooms, full service snack bar & bar, a large below deck area and the ride itself was smooth – never once did any in our party feel sea sick.
We sailed out of Harbourfront and went around the Toronto Islands with spectacular views of the Toronto skyline. If you get there early you can enjoy the great sights and sounds of Toronto Harbour Front and watch the crew cleaning the ship beforehand which was also pretty cool. There is 1 1/2 hours on the water with half hour going out and coming in.  My kids aged 11, 6 and 4 really had fun and there a few interactive parts where they even got to help use the ropes to work the sails. Honestly, it was a glorious feeling being on the water and one of the best things I did last summer with my family.
At one point on our voyage, the crews even shoot off a little cannon, which was of course, a highlight. There is an on-board snack bar features quite a large menu and it is even licensed if you feel like cracking a cold one or a nice glass of wine. The trip was a great family atmosphere and I had no problems booking a time and date that worked for us. I saw families and lots of singles, couples, seniors, everyone on board with smiles on their faces.
There are daytime sailings 3 times a day all summer long with extra evening sailings on weekends so many times to chose from. Kids 4 yrs and under are only $2,.95 anyways so don’t buy a Groupon if you have small kids this age and the regular kids price (aged 5-15 yrs) is only $11.95 too you don’t really need a Groupon for them either.  Adult pricing is where you save –  it is normally $21.95 each. This deal ends Sunday June 30th at midnight so don’t delay!
