Central Library Grand Opening Celebrations!




Central Library Opening Celebration

Saturday, September 6

10 am – 3 pm

Central Library – 85 Queen Street North

*FREE parking today from 9 am to 4 pm!


We opened the doors of our fabulous new Central Library on Queen Street this past May and now we invite everyone to join us for a special opening celebration!


* 10 am – performance by children’s entertainer, Erick Traplin

* 11 am – official opening celebration featuring Mayor Carl Zehr, Library Board Chair Dan Carli, Library CEO Sonia Lewis, project architect David Warne and artist Deborah Moss.


Plus throughout the day:

 * Guided tours hosted by our project architects

* Public art “Flux” information sessions with artist Deborah Moss
* Spoken word performances with Lost and Found Theatre
* Reception music courtesy of the KW Symphony
* Drop-in digital media lab demonstrations
* Drop-in download clinics
* Reception for September Guest Artist Jennifer Gough
* Children’s crafts and activities throughout the day
