98% Off Greeting Cards at Carlton Card Store ‘Going Out of Business Sale’ – Kitchener’s Stanley Park Mall Store

This is a local deal for my Waterloo Region friends…

The Carlton Cards store in the Stanley Park Mall is closing down after 30+ years in business. I am sad to see this store go (scroll down to read how it actually inspired the entire Bargain Hunting Momma idea) but the sale presents a great opportunity to stock up and save as the entire store is 50% (with the exception of a small area sectioned off) and cards are on blow-out 5 for $1.

Every single greeting card in the store is marked down to 5 for $1.00 or .20 cents each. Crazy right?  Christmas cards, birthday cards, fancy musical cards, wedding cards, you name a card, they have it and it’s on sale. The store was buzzing with bargain hunters and stock is disappearing quickly, but I was there this morning and managed to find 35 lovely cards for a grand total of $7 and I could have bought more. Don’t delay if you want to take advantage of this deal.

Here is small selection of my finds…(shield your eyes family members as they may be coming your way! LOL)  Most were regular priced at $4.99 up to $9.99 so for .20 cents, that is between 96 and 98% off!  I rarely buy these expensive cards anymore, which could explain why these types of stores are closing their doors, but treat yourself and grab some one you still can.

The mall is located at the corner of Ottawa and River Road inside the Stanley Park Mall and will close down next month… December 2013)

How the Bargain Hunting Momma Community Was Born…

This post is special for another reason as well since it is the ‘deal that started it all!’  It all started about two years ago after stumbling upon a similar blow-out card sale at this very same Carlton store.  My Bargain Hunting Momma motor was so revved up that I was bursting to share the deal with others. But how? At that moment, I just knew that I had to create a way to share my deals with a wider audience of like-minded people so I sat down and created my Bargain Hunting Momma Facebook group.  BOOM that was it.. the birth of the Bargain Hunting Moma on-line community which has grown tremendously and evolved to now include a fan page and of course, this blog. So my inspiration for this group is closing its doors and I’m really sad to see it go but I will always remember the Carlton Store fondly as ‘the sale that started it all!’
